Monitoring Windows 2008/Windows 7/Vista with Virtual Agents

Products Affected

All ELM products 5.x, 6.x installed on Windows XP/2000/2003

Symptoms

Virtual Agent is not collecting Event Logs from a Windows 2008/Windows 7/Vista Operating System even though an Event Collector is assigned to the Virtual Agent.

Resolution

Since ELM is installed on a Windows XP/2000/2003 host, these Operating Systems don’t have the newer Microsoft API’s needed in order to collect Events.
