TNT Software event log monitoring solutions

Cross-Platform Applications

ELM can play an integral role in cross-platform monitoring for your organization.

  • To monitor network appliances, ELM sends and receives SNMP traps, and monitors and writes SNMP Object ID values.
  • To monitor other operating systems like Linus or Unix, ELM Enterprise Manager sends and receives Syslog Messages.

It can also perform TCP/IP-related monitoring (PING, Port, HTTP, SMTP, FTP, and POP3) on any platform. Below is a sample SNMP-based scenario for ELM Enterprise Manager.

In this example, the ELM Server receives SNMP traps from a variety of network computers and devices. The ELM Server also periodically checks target SNMP OIDS on certain devices to generate alerts when the target OID values are out of range.

Administrators have integrated ELM with the corporate SNMP management system to forward Windows event log records to the SNMP management system as traps. Any trap, windows event, or alert can be re-transmitted to another SNMP management system or upstream ELM Server.
