TNT Software server monitoring and event log management solutions

Alerts

Alerts notify administrators of critical events, security breaches, or performance problems. They provide a quick on-screen look into the current activities of the systems being monitored. Alerts are generated as an action from a Monitor Item, or from an Alerts Notification Method. When an Alert is generated, it appears in the Alerts container in the ELM Console. Alerts are stored in the database used by the ELM Server for archival and reporting purposes.

The flexibility and ease-of-use of Alerts enables administrators to be notified of potential and real problems quickly. In ELM, Alerts are treated as events. This allows administrators to leverage the power and convenience of the ELM Server's Notification Engine so that an Alert can trigger notification or execute corrective action.

Alerts are stored in a table, TNTAlerts, that resides in the database used by the ELM Server. Alerts remain in the Alerts container and the Alerts database until they are manually deleted from this container.

Alerts status can be set to Open or Closed; closed Alerts can be re-opened. Alerts can be displayed based on status (Open, Closed, or Both).
