ELM Performance Manager Features

ELM Performance Manager
Baseline System Performance, Trends & Thresholds

ELM Performance Manager 5.0 allows you to monitor resource trends and thresholds from hundreds of servers and workstations, launch alerts, and generate reports, keeping IT Managers informed of costly bottlenecks before productivity is threatened. Built on the same enterprise class technology as our flagship product ELM Enterprise Manager, ELM Performance Manager provides an easy yet effective way to proactively manage system resources.

Regularly collecting performance data allows you to baseline systems, perform capacity planning, see bottlenecks and immediately recognize problems. ELM includes a built-in feature for collecting performance data from Windows Workstations and Windows Server with or without installing an Agent. Because the collected performance data is stored in a Microsoft SQL Server database, ELM can analyze and chart the data through its built-in Reports feature ELM Publisher, or by using ELM Editor, a custom reporting engine providing a query based tool for generating ad hoc and schedulable reports.

Precision Controls
ELM Performance Manager uses custom Filters to select data for concise Views and trigger Rules to alert you as conditions change. ELM Performance Manager's notification engine is both flexible and schedulable and includes barrage protection to prevent alert deluges. This enables you to take prompt corrective action when critical system events arise.

Data Storage
All data is securely stored in Microsoft SQL Server databases. ELM requires two database instances: the Primary Database for real-time reporting and a Failover Database to ensure data continuity should the Primary Database be unavailable. Unique pruning and archiving features efficiently manage the data for long term storage needs.

Easy to Access
ELM Performance Manager utilizes the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) as its primary interface. The ELM Console seen below is for configuring and viewing the data you are monitoring. A read-only Web Viewer with a powerful search feature is also included. The ELM Console displays the product architecture in three (3) functional groups:

Monitoring: Deploying and Configuring Agents
Notification: Configuring and Alerting Method and Schedules
Results: Data Displays and Reports
