Instant Message Notification
ELM includes support for Microsoft's .NET Messenger Service (MSN Protocol) as a Notification Method. In order to use an Instant Message Notification Method, you must have the following:
- A .NET Messenger Service Sign-In Account and Password for the ELM Server service.
- A .NET Messenger Service Address for each Instant Message Recipient.
- The ELM Server and the ELM Server service account must have access to the Internet.
ELM does not require the installation or use of a .NET Messenger Service client (e.g., Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger) on the ELM Server for sending instant messages. But in order for the recipient to receive the Instant Message from the ELM Server, they must:
- be running a client and be signed-in to the .NET Messenger Service
- allow the ELM Server's .NET Messenger Service sign-in account to send them Instant Messages by adding the account to their contact list or by allowing those who are not on their contact list to send them instant messages.
