New Stuff at TNT Software

ELM 5.0 is now available!

New features will delight System Administrators everywhere. ELM 5.0 is the newest and most innovative real-time system monitoring, alerting, reporting and archiving solution supporting the Windows platform. IT Managers rely on ELM to proactively manage the health and status of the systems and network devices, saving time, enhancing availability and fortifying security policies.

ELM 5.0 builds on the successes of it predecessor, ELM 4.0. For the past nine years, TNT Software’s Event Log Monitoring Technology has been recognized for its flexibility, ease of use and affordability. All the features of ELM Enterprise Manager 4.0 are found in ELM Enterprise Manager 5.0, including comprehensive event log management, performance tracking, application monitoring and support of SNMP and Syslog devices.

Monitoring capabilities of ELM 5.0 have expanded to include an Environment Monitor to provide early warning of a potentially catastrophic failure in the physical plant (air conditioner fails, overheating the server farm or a pipe breaks, destroying low lying systems). This new monitoring feature could save a business from extinction.

The Configuration Monitor in ELM Enterprise Manager 5.0 takes a snapshot of the msinfo32 data and compares this information between systems or for a single system at different times. This novel monitoring capability assists System Administrators in troubleshooting servers and application migration.

ELM 5.0 includes, for the first time in any TNT Software solution, the ability to consolidate .evt files. The Event File Collector collects, compresses and stores native event files from all monitored systems to a single location. In the event of legal conflicts, business executives have managed copies of the .evt files for concrete resolution.

The new SNMP Collector provides enhanced network device support. SNMP OID values are collected on a scheduled basis and stored in the ELM database. The ability to generate informative SMNP data trending provides single seat proactive monitoring of complex environments.

Most revolutionary of the new features in ELM Enterprise Manager 5.0 is the ELM Editor. IT Managers demand a tool that gives them the flexibility to generate ad hoc reports for audit support and security forensics, and to design reports specific to their needs. ELM Editor gives unprecedented access to the ELM database (MSSQL Server). Focused on generating clear, concise and easy-to-use reports, ELM Editor supports a drag-and-drop feature that uses existing Filters and Views to create custom reports. ELM Editor then provides a user-friendly query-builder for tuning the report to specific information and design requirements. ELM Editor helps IT Managers stay ahead of security threats, compliance demands and management concerns.

To support ELM Editor, an innovative Database Archive Management System has been added for ELM 5.0. Efficiency in reporting is directly related to database size. With today’s mandates, even SMBs are collecting gigabytes of data each month. For real-time monitoring, alerting and reporting, data is stored in the ELM Primary Database. ELM 5.0 adds the ability to automatically prune and archive this data at preset periods, then provides access to those archives for ad hoc queries and reporting. The ELM 5.0 database archive management system provides efficient data management and responsive reporting capabilities.

The Agent Deployment Wizard is a tool which allows large scale deployment of ELM Agents. Systems to be monitored can be specified by Active Directory query, IP address range, or file listing. Agents deployed by the Wizard can be Service, Virtual, IP Virtual, or Staged Agents. The last type allows monitoring of phased deployments of new hardware to readied for easy future monitoring.

He would go on to perform under his new name: Bob Dylan.

1987 - On ABC's "Nightline," Ted Koppel and guests discussed AIDS for four hours. It is thought this was a record for the longest live television broadcast, other than those devoted to space coverage and political conventions.
