Two Ways to Save Time and Effort

snap-ins. The Add/Remove dialog will appear.

Click Close to close the Add/Remove dialog. The MMC will re-appear.
-
Depending on your version of Windows, open either the Console menu or the File
menu and select Save to save the configured MMC.
Now your frequently visited administrative tools are
gathered into one convenient place!
2. How To Import and Export Data
ELM includes the ability to import and export a single item
or a container of items. Items can be exported to and imported from XML files
and the Windows Clipboard. In addition, you can also export items to Mail
Recipients. Importing and exporting XML packages makes it easy to exchange
configuration information and ELM Server Objects between ELM Servers, or in the
case of Personal Views, between ELM users.
To export one or more items:
-
Right-click on a container or a single item and select Export To. The Export
context menu will appear.
-
Choose an export destination:
-
Clipboard
-
File
-
Mail Recipient (requires MAPI and a configured mail profile on the ELM
Console).
-
The Export Type dialog box will appear. Choose Plain Text or XML. If you plan
on importing the item, you must choose XML. Plain text items cannot be
imported.
To import one or more items that have been exported from an
ELM Console:
-
Right-click on the appropriate container, or in the white space in the results
pane of the appropriate container, and select Import From. The Import context
menu will appear.
-
Choose an import source.
-
Clipboard (available only if you just exported to the clipboard)
-
File
-
The new item will be imported into the selected container.
(Note: You cannot import data while in EVALUATION mode. The
ability to import XML configuration data requires a licensed version of ELM. To
obtain a license, contact TNT Software's Sales department.)

It's Dad's turn this month...
The History of FATHERS' DAY
Sonora Dodd of Washington decided to create a Father's Day
after listening to a Mother's Day sermon in 1909. She wanted a special day to
honor her father, William Smart. Smart, a Civil War veteran and a widower,
raised his six children alone while running his farm.
Sonora's father was born in June, so she chose to hold the
first Father's Day celebration in Spokane, Washington on the 19th of June,
1910. President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation in 1966
declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day. President Richard Nixon
signed the law which made it a permanent holiday in 1972.
In Germany, Father's Day has a different, older history. The
tradition goes back to the Middle Ages, when the day was celebrated with a
religious procession honoring Gott den Vater. By the 1700s, it became a more
family-oriented holiday in honor of fathers. But by the 19th century, it became
a "men's day out", when men to go to a local pub and have a few drinks with
friends. It is celebrated in May.
The Canadian and British Father's Days are derived from the
American version and are celebrated on the same day. In Australia, it is
celebrated on the first Sunday of September. In these countries, it is
customary to wear a red rose to pay homage to a living father, while white
roses honor a father who has passed away.
-
The word "Dad" dates to the sixteenth century, or earlier. It may have
originated with the Welsh word "Tad" (meaning father). The word "Father" is
derived from the Old English "Foeder".
-
There are an estimated 66.3 million fathers across the U.S. today.
-
Nearly 95 million Father’s Day cards were given last year in the United States,
making Father’s Day the fourth-largest card-sending occasion.
-
There were 22,410 sporting goods stores in the U.S. in 2003. These stores are
good places to purchase traditional gifts for dad such as fishing rods and golf
clubs. (Hint, hint)
-
Neckties lead the list of Father’s Day gifts (and there are 10,416 men’s
clothing stores around the country).
-
Other items high on the list of Father’s Day gifts include those you may find
in dad’s toolbox. There are 14,755 hardware stores and 5,280 home centers.
-
There are approximately 147,000 “stay-at-home” dads. These married fathers with
children under 15 years old have remained out of the labor force for more than
one year primarily so they can care for the family while their wives work
outside the home. These fathers cared for 268,000 children.
