Event Log Monitoring

Microsoft Windows event logs contain the most important information for diagnosing application and operating system failures, determining the health and status of a system, and verifying that system and applications are operating properly.

ELM monitors all of the event logs, including application-specific event logs such as the DNS Server log. ELM reads the event logs, sending event data and alerts in real-time, presenting the event data as readable information.

Event Alarms

Using an Event Alarm monitor, ELM compares the new event with the Event Alarm criteria. If the event matches the criteria the specified number of times within the specified time period, the Action on the Event Found tab is executed. If the event is not found the specified number of times within the given time period, the Actions specified on the Event Not Found tab are executed.

Event Collector

The Event Collector collects all events matching the specified Event Filters from the monitored Agents. The collected events are displayed in the appropriate Event Views within the ELM Console, and stored for archival and reporting purposes in the ELM Server's database.
