ELM Enterprise Manager Named 2007 Community Choice Award Winner by Windows IT Pro

August 1, 2007, TNT Software, Vancouver, WA – TNT Software today announced that its ELM Enterprise Manager was named as a winner of the “Community Choice Awards” in the Network Monitoring Tools category by Penton Media’s Windows IT Pro®.

“The 2007 Community Choice Awards continue our tradition of honoring those products that our readers tell us are most worthy of recognition,” said Kim Paulsen, group publisher of Windows IT Pro. “These are the hardware, software, and services that measure up where it counts most – in the businesses, agencies, and institutions that rely on them to deliver what they promise.”

Windows IT Pro forums and several Windows user groups were asked to vote on their product preferences in 12 broad technology categories.

“The voters are tough, in-the-trenches critics,” Paulsen continued. “They demand solid value and performance from the products they use and put those products to the test day after day.  Community Choice award winners can feel proud that the products and services they develop have earned the respect and recognition of the IT world's most knowledgeable and exacting professionals.”

Differences Between ELM Publisher and the New ELM Editor

ELM Editor
With the release of ELM 5.0 earlier this year a new reporting tool called ELM Editor was introduced. Using ASP.Net to produce and manage reports, ELM Editor provides the flexibility to generate custom ad hoc reports for audit support and security forensics, and to design reports specific to individual needs. ELM Editor also provides access to both the ELM Primary database and any Archive database when ELM creates the Archive generations. These reports can be scheduled and automatically delivered in a variety of ways, including emailed to multiple recipients. The ELM Editor report designer includes:

  • Full featured SQL editor
  • Event View “create report” option
  • Integrated charts
  • Custom HTML and Glossary Sections
  • Multiple sections per report
  • And more

ELM Editor makes it easy to combine reports by using simple cut/copy, paste, rename, and delete functions. A drag and drop feature also allows you to initiate custom reports from Event Views and Performance Data Views. Reports can be saved or printed through the context menu and report scheduling allows you to run reports at regular intervals to be delivered via email, saved to a file, or database.

ELM Publisher
ELM Publisher provides over 30 preconfigured reports which allow you to quickly produce management reports from information collected by the ELM Server. Reports have integrated Monitor Items which allows you to pick the report and ELM knows what data to collect. The ELM Publisher reports module is integrated with both the ELM Console and the ELM Web Viewer, enabling you to use it in both user interfaces; the MMC, and/or Microsoft Internet Explorer.

NOT Strictly Business

The anniversary of September 11
Just six years ago yesterday our nation faced some of our darkest fears with the attacks on World Trade Center, Pentagon, and Flight 93. While the shadow of that day still looms for some, we take pride in the American people, and our ability to respond with courage and strength and rebuild from our losses.

At TNT Software, we salute all of our fellow Americans who have worked hard, who have sacrificed, and who are the heroes who make our great nation what it is today. May we always remember, so that others will never forget.
